SABRINA CORMACK, Joya Spa & Retail Director at InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa
Sabrina Cormack, Joya Spa & Retail Director, oversees Joya spa, Joya Fitness, Joya Salon, and retail operations of the resort. Her responsibilities prior to the opening of Joya Spa included developing the spa’s signature treatments and product lines, creating the spa menu and selecting retail items, as well as recruiting and hiring a team. Now, Cormack oversees Joya Spa as a whole and all of her teams that make Joya a success. She brings a wealth of spa knowledge to InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa, having served most recently as Spa Director at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.  Cormack has more than 15 years of hospitality and sales experience including pre-openings as well as serving as Assistant Spa Director at the prestigious Phoenician resort.  Her talents play a major role in creating the dynamics for what will be the Valley’s spa of choice among those looking for the finest available services and amenities.

Q:  What was the number one reason you decided to join our team at InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa?

A:                           The reason I joined the InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa is after hearing that the vision of this spectacular property allows the spa team to be creative, innovative and cutting edge, while enjoying the most beautiful place to work in ArizonaParadise Valley.  Also, the amazing and dynamic management team from the Managing Director, Valeriano Antonioli to the Sales and Marketing Director, Greg Hanss.  The InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa has hired a phenomenal team with high energy and optimistic attitudes while always maintaining the motto of having fun!

 

Q:  What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

A:                         My silver and hot pink roller-skates when I was 10 years old.

 

Q:  What are you passionate about?

A:                         I’m passionate about dancing, working out, and working with great people at the resort and spa!

 

Q:  How did you get started in the hotel industry? What was your first job?

A:                         I started working for the Phoenician Resort at the Hotel Front Desk, then Concierge and I was highly encouraged to become the Spa Supervisor at the Centre for Well-being.  That’s where I discovered my passion:  Working with great associates and seeing guests so happy that they are sleep walking!  

 

Q:  What's your favorite way to relax?

A:                         Enjoying a manicure and pedicure by my favorite nail technician. 

 

Q:  If you could live a double life, what would the other “you” be doing?

A:                         I would be a ballet dancer, dance instructor, or Esthetician/ Cosmetologist.
