Eric Smith, Director of Engineering, provides leadership and years of experience in management of engineering operations to the team at InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa. He most recently served as Chief Engineer at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa where he was responsible for all facets of property engineering. Smith has served on several Hyatt pre-opening teams and his experience and leadership is an asset to the resort as a whole.

Q:  What was the number one reason you decided to join our team at InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa?

A:                 I decided to join the team because of the resort architecture & upscale appeal along with Managing Director Valeriano Antonioli’s enthusiasm for the vision of the InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa.

 

Q:  What are you passionate about?

A:                 I am very passionate about music; I love to play the drums! 

 

Q:  How did you get started in the hotel industry? What was your first job?

A:                 I started working for Wyndham Garden Hotel’s in 1986 in General Maintenance.

 

Q:  If you could plan a month-long trip anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A:                 I would love to visit the Grand Cayman Islands

 

Q:  If you could live a double life, what would the other “you” be doing?

A:                 Flying F-18’s with the Blue Angels.  I dream about flying a Military Fighter Jet!

 

Q:  What is the best compliment anyone could give you?

A:                 I love to hear that my sons are handsome!
