Dean Griffin, Director of Rooms, provides leadership and motivation to create unparalleled guest satisfaction and the highest quality product possible for resort guests and visitors.

Most recently, Griffin served as Director of Housekeeping for the Arizona Biltmore, and prior to that held the position of Director of Front Office Operations.  His stance has always been to provide the best possible service to guests and employees with passion and enthusiasm.  Griffin also served as Front Office Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.

Q:  What was the number one reason you decided to join our team at InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa?

A:                I joined InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa for a few reasons.  It’s an amazing opportunity to work for the largest hotel company in the world.  It’s the first resort in North America for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and we have the opportunity to be a part of building a brand new hotel from the ground up.  Lastly, I joined the team because of the inspirational vision of our property.

 

Q:  What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

A:               The best gift I have ever received would be my children.  I’m very passionate about my family and local events and charities that support children in our community. 

 

Q:  What's your favorite way to relax?

A:                I enjoy relaxing and doing activities like golfing, camping, fishing, and running.

 

Q:  How did you get started in the hotel industry? What was your first job?A:               My mother has been in the industry for as long as I can remember and pushed me into my first job as a server in the poker room at the Fort McDowell Casino.

 

Q:  Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing?

A:                I dream of taking time off to travel to Italy, Spain, France, Brazil, and New Zealand

 

Q:  If you could live a double life, what would the other “you” be doing?

A:               The other ‘me’ would be a martial arts movie star!
